When Meredith asked me to do her senior photos, I asked if she had any sort of inspiration she wanted for the shoot. Her response? “I want photos to look like if Fleet Foxes music became photos.” DONE. I was incredibly inspired by this request. I love Fleet Foxes and they are a band I feel fits my style of work fairly well. The only problem was that the shoot we had planned for Meredith did not fit this inspiration. So, we decided to throw out our ideas and just start driving down a road near her home. We continued to drive until we saw a path that led into the woods behind a liquor store. We pulled over and headed into the path. I’d say this plan was a little more Fleet Foxes than we originally had in mind. The rest of the shoot we continued to drive with no destination in mind and only stopped when we were inspired by something we saw.. At one point we ended up in a small cemetery, and at another point we ended up down a dirt road with an amazing tree overhang. All the while not really knowing where we actually were. Meredith’s favorite songs by Fleet Foxes are Sim Sala Bim or One Another Ocean. If you get a chance, put it on one of these tracks while viewing these photos.
