At the end of the day someone came up to me and said, “you two must be exhausted. They basically just jammed three days of tradition in one day!” Skip and Maya’s day was magical and packed with so much heart and meaning. We’ve never done this before with a blog post but this wedding was way too magical to not share as much of it as we could. So, this wedding is going to be spread out over two posts.

Part one is Maya’s Croatian tradition. The ceremony begins with a bartering between the groom and the father of the bride. After the bartering is complete, the groom is presented with a fake bride. After a few laughs, he is then given permission to see his bride. This is one of the coolest moments we’ve experienced as wedding photographers. After a moments moments together, the bride and groom were greeted by their friends and family. The wedding guests then enjoyed some authentic Croatian food while a band played Croatian music in the background. It was quite the party. And this was only the beginning of the day!
